Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Dogether (“Dogether,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Dogether mobile application and related websites (collectively, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Dogether is a trust-based accountability app that lets two people share a board, assign tasks, submit proof, review outcomes, and manage points and incentives.

2. Information we collect
We collect information in the following categories. Exact fields depend on how you use the Service.
2.1 Account and identity information
- Username and nickname you choose in the app
- Authentication data from Google Sign-In and/or Sign in with Apple, including provider account identifiers and tokens needed to keep you signed in
- Information the provider shares with us when you authorize sign-in (for example, an email address or name, if you choose to share it and the provider supplies it)
We use sign-in providers for authentication. Profile details such as username and nickname are managed inside Dogether.
2.2 User-generated content and activity
- Board information (for example board name, roles, invitations, and permission settings)
- Tasks, descriptions, due dates, review decisions, and related comments
- Submission proofs you provide (currently text-based proof content)
- Points, point history, incentives, incentive types, and related activity
- Partner reports you submit (reason and optional details)
This content is visible to your board partner as needed to operate the accountability features you use.
2.3 Device and technical information
- Device push-notification tokens (for example via Firebase Cloud Messaging) when notifications are enabled
- App version, device/platform information, and server logs reasonably needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service
- Approximate network/request metadata (such as IP address) that may appear in infrastructure logs
2.4 Information we do not collect (MVP)
Unless we later update this Policy and your store listings:
- We do not sell your personal information
- We do not use your data for third-party advertising
- We do not collect precise location for the Service’s core features
- Image or video proof uploads are not part of the current MVP feature set
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you
- Provide boards, invitations, tasks, proofs, reviews, points, and incentives
- Show relevant content to your board partner
- Send push notifications about Service activity (when enabled)
- Receive and handle partner reports and enforce safety rules
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose outages or bugs
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests
- Communicate with you about the Service, security, or support
We do not use personal information for cross-app tracking for advertising.
4. How we share information
We may share information as follows:
4.1 Your board partner
Content and activity on a shared board are visible to the other member of that board as required for the Service (for example tasks, proofs, reviews, points, and profile display names).
4.2 Service providers
We use vendors that process data on our behalf, such as:
- Cloud hosting and database providers
- Authentication providers (Google, Apple)
- Push-notification infrastructure (for example Firebase / FCM)
These providers may process data only to provide services to us, under contractual or platform terms.
4.3 Legal and safety
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- Protect the rights, safety, or security of Dogether, our users, or the public
- Investigate fraud, abuse, or Terms violations
4.4 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and this Policy’s principles.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Data retention
We retain account and Service data for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide the Service.
If you delete your account (see Section 6), we delete or anonymize personal data associated with your account within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days), except where we must retain limited information for legitimate purposes such as:
- Security, fraud prevention, or abuse investigation
- Resolving disputes
- Complying with legal obligations
- Maintaining backups for a limited time before they rotate out
Partner reports and related safety records may be retained longer when needed for enforcement and security.
6. Account and data deletion
Because Dogether creates an account when you sign in, you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
In the app
Use Profile / Settings → Delete Account (or the equivalent account-deletion control in the app) to start deletion.
Outside the app (web / email)
You may also request account and data deletion by emailing support@dogetherapp.com from a contact method we can reasonably associate with your account. Include your username (if any) and the sign-in method you use (Google or Apple).
After we process a deletion request, you will lose access to boards, tasks, proofs, points, and other account data. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
If some data must be retained for legal or security reasons, we will limit retention to what is necessary and describe it when applicable.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information (including editing username/nickname in the app where available)
- Delete your account and personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example notification permissions on your device)
To exercise these rights, contact support@dogetherapp.com or use in-app controls where available. You can also revoke Google or Apple sign-in access in your provider account settings; that may prevent future sign-in but does not automatically delete Dogether account data—use account deletion for that.
Device permissions (such as notifications) can be changed in your device settings.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact support@dogetherapp.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with involvement of a parent or guardian as required by applicable law and app-store rules.
9. International transfers
We may process and store information on servers located outside your country of residence. Those locations may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we take appropriate measures to protect transferred information.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information (for example encrypted transport via HTTPS and access controls). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties such as Google, Apple, hosting providers, and push-notification services. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review those policies.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
